When my time to die is near, I will not grieve. I will accept my fate calmly, and when my body is gone, I will rejoice to join the symphony of time contained in every living, breathing body. My heart will sing at the thought of joining the matter of the dinosaurs, the cavemen, the uncountable men and women long since dead - each with his own story, and each part of the remarkable pageant of time in which we are not players, but mere specks of dust existing in a temporary world until we are freed of our bodies and allowed to join in the history of time - to be one with a delicate flower, a soaring bird, a mighty redwood tree, and every star and planet of the galaxy. Written by Juliette B. Lia Juliette was a 2008
graduate of Minisink Valley High School.
While in High School Juliette was a member of the Honor Society,
chorus, Chamber Choir, and the swim team.
Juliette worked as a lifeguard at High Point Country Club for the past
four summers.
She valued her education, and worked hard to stay in school while
battling her illness.
After graduating Minisink Valley, Juliette attended Albright College in
Reading, PA and was proud to be inducted to her sorority
ΦΜ (Phi Mu).
Juliette's
With Juliette's strength
and resolve she was an inspiration to her family, friends and many
others. She always kept a
positive outlook with her "never give up" personality in all she did as
a child and as a young adult.
Juliette enjoyed many things, but the one thing she
loved and shared a common interest in with her parents was motorcycles.
She loved to ride so much that she went out and got her license
as soon as she could! Juliette also had a passion and a talent for
writing. Her music interest was anything she could sing and dance to
and her favorite television shows were Law and Order: SVU, House, That
70's Show and There are many types of people, but what stands true is that wonderful people like Juliette have wonderful friends and Juliette had plenty! As a surprise to Juliette her friends had secretly planned a "Swim a Thon" to raise money so she could take a trip with her family. Juliette was astounded to find out her friends did this for her. Something like this says a lot about the person Juliette was and the kind of friends she had.
Juliette felt very strongly that someone in her position be able to do
something special for someone else so if you are looking for a charity
and would like to do something for someone in need it is Juliette's wish
that donations be made to
