Impromptu Trip to

6 AM meet up at Stateline Diner Mahwah, NJ

First break Loves Truck Stop Rt. 78 PA

Lunch at Subway in Front Royal, VA

Time to gear up for the rain.

Frank you can't make snow angels in the rain.

Beautiful view from this overlook but we wouldn't know.

The fog added a challenge to the wet road twisties!

We call this "serious training."

So we had enough for the day.

 

Late night dinner in Waynesboro, VA
In the morning we are going to "hammer" southwest
to get out of this storm asap.

Lunch at Taco Bell  of Rt. 81 on our way to Boone, NC

Rooms at the biker friendly Best Western
We decided to grab a cab to "Peppers" for dinner.

But we had too jam 5 of us in a cab.

Finally lets eat!

Peppers finest waitress.

Now that we have eaten and are full we have to
jamb ourselves back into a cab!

The next morning with perfect weather we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway
We pull over so Hardcore can set up his video camera thinking the Linn Cove Viaduct
might be a good video opportunity, its all a video opportunity on the Blue Ridge!

How do you get this damn thing to work?

Its obvious why they call it the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Sometimes we go over the mountain and...

sometimes we go through it.

At first approach, this elk looked like a statue

then it moved!

Reaching the end of the "Tail of the Dragon".

The Tail of the Dragon is split between Tennessee & North Carolina.

We did Skyline Drive & The Snake in the rain and fog
why not do the Tail of the Dragon and Foothills Parkway at night?

The next day we head for Cherohala Skyway

but first its 2 hours of Harley Shopping!

At the end of the Cherohala Skyway Hardcore & Harley Boy
discuss who is left with the thinnest floorboards (Harley Boy).
Phil "ran it hard" like Harley Boy but with Goldwings higher
ground clearance has the least bike damage.

"Ahoy I see more twisty's ahead!"

Getting to the motel late means "dorm food" for dinner.

We stop for fuel on our way back to Skyline Drive.

We made it back to Skyline Drive.
This time we hope it is clear enough to enjoy the ride.

A little cloudy but better than the fog & rain.

and the views are spectacular!

It was worth going back and riding it again
(even for the one who got the speeding ticket).
