Late night dinner at Hooters Memphis.

Arkansas!

Crossing the Mississippi.

The following morning we leave Memphis
and cross the Mississippi River into Arkansas.
One of the first things we see in Arkansas is Toad Suck HD.
Toad Suck, really? how do you get a town called Toad Suck?
Briefly it goes like this...
Long ago, steamboats traveled the Arkansas River when the water was at the
right depth.
When it wasn't, the captains and their crew tied up to wait where the
Toad Suck Lock and Dam now spans the river. While they waited, they
refreshed themselves
at the local tavern there, to the dismay of the folks living nearby, who
said:
"They suck on the bottle 'til they swell up like toads." Hence, the name
Toad Suck.

Phil showing his approval, we are stopping at Waffle House for breakfast.

Think its time for a tire.

Time to hit the scenic roads of Arkansas and see how they compare to
Tennessee.

This bridge is nerve racking even on a motorcycle.

We go across one at a time.

Our favorite sign in any state.
